Welcome to DUMC Kids! We are your partner in bringing Jesus into the life of your family. We want your children, birth – 6th grade, to want to come to church and to think of it as a safe, fun place to learn about and experience God’s love, make new friends, and to just be a kid. We believe that active engagement in faith-centered activities brings all families closer in relationship with our loving God and with each other.

2023/2024 Kids’ Worship Opportunities
Kids’ Worship
Sunday School
September 10th – May 19th, 9:00 am, Overholt Hall
Kids aged 3yrs (potty trained) to 4th grade.
Volunteer teachers provide unified, dynamic instruction that is Christ-centered (and fun!).
Kids 3yrs–K participate in Cherub Choir during Sunday School each week.
Enrollment is ongoing—it’s never too late to enroll for any of our kids’ worship opportunities!
Anchor
September 10th – , May 19th, 9:00 am, Room 22
Our emerging teens (5th & 6th graders) gather each Sunday at 9 am, September through May in Room 22, to dive into a comprehensive survey of the Bible. This two-year adventure covers the Old Testament one year and the New Testament the following year. This solid foundation will help our tweens explore their own faith and the truths that the Bible holds as they continue to grow.
Enrollment is ongoing—it’s never too late to enroll for any of our kids’ worship opportunities!
Kids’ Word @ 11:11
September 10th – May 19th, during the 11:11 Service
Kids K-6th grade enjoy their own Children’s Worship Service, including a bible story, games and crafts. Children enjoy music worship in the 11:11 service and then depart for their own kids worship time. Drop-ins are welcome to try us out.

Nursery
Returns September 10th – June 16th!
Nursery Care
Children 6 months to 5yrs from 9 am– 12:30 pm
Our nursery is staffed with two adult, background-checked caregivers.
All children must be have a filled out nursery registration to attend.

Vacation Bible School
July 15th – 19th, 9am – 11am
Kids ages 4yrs (potty trained) through 6th grade
Kids enjoy a week-long experience with bible adventures, fun themed treats, uplifting Christian music, outdoor sports/games and more! Kids will have fun and learn to connect with Jesus in a deeper, more personal way.

Trunk or Treat
October 21, 2023, 3 – 5pm
Held in October annually.
Children of all ages enjoying trick or treating in this Halloween themed event. Fall treats, games, crafts and music for all!
FabYULEous Festive Family Road Rally
December 2nd, 1pm
Teams will complete puzzles and participate in a scavenger hunt that will take them all around the town. Teams with the most collective points win! Fun for the whole family!
Children’s Christmas Celebration
December 17th, 10:10 Service
The Nativity Story comes alive through a family-friendly reading and re-enactment of Jesus’ birth during the 10:10 service. The children of DUMC participate in this special service which includes Christmas carols, glow sticks, Directly afterwards in Overholt, children will participate in a celebration with a visit from Santa, and a birthday cake for Jesus.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
January 15th, 2023 10am – Held on Martin Luther King Day in January annually
Families join together for a morning of service dedicated to making fleece blankets for Project Linus. Blankets are made for and donated to children in hospitals and shelters in Bucks County.
Easter Eggstravaganza
March 23, 2024, 10 – 11:30 am
Families enjoy some fun time together playing games, doing crafts and an egg hunt. We also spend some time introducing the real meaning of Easter in a family friendly way.
Glow Party
April 20th, 2023, 5 – 7pm
Celebrating the love of Jesus by GLOWING together! A celebration for the whole family where everything glows in the dark!
End Of The Year Party
June 1st, 2023, 4 – 7pm
Come celebrate another fabulous school year. A celebration with food, fun and friends! This is an ALL church and preschool event. EVERYONE IS WELCOMED!

If you’d like to get involved with Children’s Ministries–it will be rewarding beyond your expectations! Here are some areas where you could have a great impact on our kids’ lives and our church family:

Come out and join over 30 volunteers for a great week of fun and fellowship. Help us to bring the children of DUMC and the community closer in their relationship with God.
Organizational Angels
Help out with organizing our Sunday School closet, storage areas, or in the Children’s Ministry office. We can always put your time and talents to good use!
Safe Sanctuaries
Safe Sanctuaries is DUMC’s program for training and doing background clearances on all staff and volunteers who work with children and youth. We are also mandated by the state of Pennsylvania to do these background checks. We take this program very seriously and aim to have 100% of our staff and volunteers checked and trained.
