Galatians 2:6-8

Surprise! God shows no favoritism – whether to the Jewish people (a.k.a. God’s Elect) or to the non-Jew (a.k.a. Gentile). Both are important; therefore, God can and does empower people to become effective witnesses to those with vastly differing, and even opposing, mindsets. That is why he chose both Peter and Paul. Interestingly, it is the same God who gives the power to both to be effective witnesses. We must never put “God in a box” as to who he wants to reach or touch with his love, and who he chooses to do so.
How prejudiced are you about the people that God chooses to transform with his love? How can we support and encourage servants of God that he uses, especially when we may not agree with them theologically?
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for being a God who is impartial in giving blessings (see Matthew 5:45) – I doubt I would have experienced your grace otherwise. Help me to see others – even those I don’t like or those I disagree with – through your eyes, the eyes of love and forgiveness. I dearly want to share the love that you have given me; empower me to do it with openness and generosity. Break down my own presuppositions and intolerance that blind me to your grace at work in others. Change me, as I see you change others through me. Amen.
